It's so good to see you
ABOUT ME
My name is Alexandra, a masters-level, licensed clinical therapist.
Becoming a counselor was an interesting transition from once being a client; I know many of those feelings that we have sitting in the client chair. This has made me able to be sensitive to those feelings as a therapist. They include the familiar jitters we get when we meet a new therapist, or anxiously awaiting next week’s appointment to share what happened. Others of us know the comfort of having a special person in our life who we can confide in and lean on. On the other hand, maybe that is something we have never felt but want to.
Perhaps you want therapy that makes you feel safe and cared for. At the end of a challenging week wouldn’t it be nice to have the relief of expressing your thoughts and feelings? There is a freedom that comes with being able to speak about victories and losses, annoyances and joys. It is priceless to have a close confidant who you can brainstorm with, solve problems and bounce ideas off. Maybe you’d like to have someone in your life who you can trust and someone that will encourage you no matter what life delivers.
The therapy practice is named Hold My Heart, because that is my goal as your therapist; I want to be a warm place that you feel comforted in. A place where all of your feelings, memories and dreams can land and arrive safely. Therapy that has the capacity to span across your lifetime is unique with today’s therapeutic revolving doors. The services you will receive from Hold My Heart give you the assurance that we can walk together for years. The work we do on ourselves is not time-limited; it’s lifelong. It would be a privilege to be your personal therapist on your life journey.

My methods
EXPERIENCE
Person-Centered Therapy
Known as Rogerian Therapy. This is client-led therapy whose pillars are unconditional acceptance, empathy, congruence and non-judgement. The process includes self discovery and personal growth.
Gestalt Therapy
A German term for "unified whole." Using this therapy, we are able to identify parts of us and how they create an entire self. This is done by working in the present moment with self-awareness and taking personal responsibility.
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Provides a caring environment which allows you to identify and experience your emotions safely. You can then learn how to manage those feelings and resolve how they show up in our lives privately and publicly.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Identifying and challenging your thoughts and behaviors. The goal is finding greater ability to cope with your thoughts and behaviors, along with openness to change and discussion.
