What if some trauma was inherited?

So you’re probably wondering; Alexandra, how am I like these billion year old diamonds, created from hot magma? Well precious one, thank you for the privilege of telling you.

First of all, let’s start off with this idea of being over a billion-years in the making. Want to hear something super interesting? We have the experiences of our ancestors within our actual DNA. Your eye color, hair and skin were all inherited through DNA that was encoded. But surprisingly, that only makes up less than 2% of our DNA, leaving the rest as non-encoded DNA. The DNA we have that is non-encoded is the stuff that we perform out on the stage of life; behavioral, emotional and personality traits.

This is biologically true: what your ancestors went through can be felt through you, may sound and even feel familiar. Have you ever noticed generational patterns in marriage or behavior? Or even further, have you ever had a tugging feeling that you can’t seem to shake? It’s like this thing that keeps coming up for you in life. All that to say, that generational marks are real and they began many, many years ago, leaving their mark on you today.

In this way, you are like an ancient diamond with the history of the world and your ancestors written all over you. This makes you unique. It makes you weathered by life and adversity before you even leave your mother’s womb. And it makes life a special challenge, kind of like a mystery, that you can choose to solve during your lifetime.

As a counselor I engage in curious investigation concerning you.

Let’s uncover mysteries of your heart together,

Alexandra
